A Conversation with                                Nick Capra                                                                                              by Mark Adams

"I don't bend over for just anyone." Words to live by from porn star/Hookie Award Winner Nick Capra, as he launches his own paysite NickCapra.com . It's been almost a year since I spoke with the hunky and personable gentleman, who has worked for a plethora of major studios and directors like Lucas, Gage, Blakk and Scarborough (first names? You must be kidding...). Oh. As for his bottoming for the site, Capra said, definitely, and added...well, here, read it for yourself. Keep in mind, there's no such thing a "brief" interview with this charming guy.

Me: The new site is looking great.
Nick:  It’s in its beginning stages, but I’m just glad to see it taking on a life of its own.  It’s been a long time coming.
M: The stuff that you’re shooting for the site…I suspect you’ll eventually be releasing them on DVD.
N:  Most likely. Yeah. Why not.
M:  What can we expect to see on the site?
N:  We’re doing scripted scenes and some amateur stuff, a lot of it raw and edgy. I’m going to be doing a lot of traveling, and we’ll have a lot of that. I want it to be fun.
M: I see you’ve got a little buzz going on the blogs about one of your…ahem, escorting gigs involving a dominatrix and an unnamed celebrity.
N:  I get a lot of people coming to me for escorting stuff, they think that now that I’ve won an award, I am the expert. They ask me about my adventures, so I wrote a blog about one of the situations I experienced in NY.  A pregnant dominatrix and a male celebrity were there – of course, I wouldn’t reveal who he was, but I did tell In Touch that he was in an issue of People Magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive. A bunch of blogs have posted the story, trying to figure out who the guy is. I put all the links to them on my blog page. It happened years ago, but I just decided to write the story to answer a blogger’s question.
M:  Do you Twitter?
N:  I set up a Twitter account, but I don’t even know how to Twitter.
M:  Hey, even I can do it. It’s amazing. So let’s get to the good stuff. Are you still sober?
N:  It’s been since December 2007.  I’m really excited about that. My whole lifestyle has changed on account of it. I’m about to do a new project in LA called “Sober and Sexy.”  I want to be a part of it. There is so much of our gay demographic that is dying because of substance abuse.  I was one of them, and it’s very close to my heart.
M:  What made you realize you had to stop?
N:  I don’t even know. I was miserable. I couldn’t have a relationship. I couldn’t work. There were no more videos, no Nick Capra. There was no “mom,” who I was very close to. It was like experiencing a living death. I was like a shell. I asked for help, got a sponsor, worked the steps…now it’s all turned around. I’ve got my health back, my body back, my career back. I’ve got my mom back. I’m happy, too. I was not happy before.
M:  There are others, I’m sure, that are in the same situation that you were in.
N:  And it’s not just the porn industry. It’s every facet of the entertainment industry, especially. Many gay men just don’t know how to communicate and socialize or be sexual without being under the influence.
M: Last time we spoke, I think you had done one film with Michael Lucas. Any comments on working with the diva?
N:  I went to Fire Island and shot with him. I got to spend time with him, and you know what? I think I could have fallen for Michael. That’s something you’re not going to hear a lot, because many are on the other side of the spectrum when it comes to Lucas. I spent some intimate time with Michael, let’s just say that, and he is sexually insatiable, and a marketing genius. There’s something so attractive about him, and I feel safe when I’m around him. He’s a real gentleman.
M:  I’m sure that when he sees this, your check will be in the mail. Your Titan movie “Slow Heat in a Texas Town” has been out for about a month. It’s a Joe Gage film. How was it working with him?
N: I love Joe. He’s got a very gentle approach. He makes me feel very welcome on the set. He knows what he wants, he knows how to get it out of the performer.
M: Now that you have your own site and studio, are you going to do any work for anyone else?
N:  I’m shying away from it a little bit right now. If I get something good like “Slow Heat….,” that would be great. If Michael Lucas asked me to do something really raunchy, I’d probably do it. Especially if it were something really different. I’m more interested in doing this creative process on my own.
M:  Now, on to the bottoming thing.
N:  I think there are a couple of guys out there I’d really like to bottom for.
M:  Do they know this?
N:  Mmmmmmmm…well, I haven’t really put it out there yet. If they’re foreign and uncut, and hairy, they can come to the front of the line.
M:  Oh come on…give me some exclusive dirt.
N:   Well…I haven’t posted it on my website yet, but I bottomed for Robert Van Damme.
M:   Did you now. And you’ve been keeping it from us.
N:   We did a hot scene that will be on the site. We actually went out and played football together. We didn’t know quite what we were going to do, we were originally just going to do some oral stuff and I hadn’t decided if I was going to bottom for him, and then I said, “Let’s go fuck,” and he said, “Are you sure? You’re not a power bottom.” He does have a big dick. I said, “Sure, let’s do it – you look so hot in those shorts right now, with that dick swinging around.”
M:  So you got Robert – foreign and uncut.
N:  Yup – big thick accent and big thick dick. It’s not up on the site yet, we’re saving that one. Probably within the next six weeks.
M:  Well, that made the call worthwhile. Best of luck with the site. It’s a lot of work.
N:  I couldn’t do it without doing the program. I don’t mean to preach, but I’m really active in the gay sober community. And I’d also like to mention Jett Blakk. Jett has been a huge part of my support group and of the site. He is a big part of the creative process. He was there for me when I was a mess, and he helped me get it together. He is my business partner on NickCapra.com, and he is a great collaborator and supporter.
